Benedict O. Vanek, DDS

Dr. Ben Vanek has been providing quality dental care for over 3 decades. He offers his patients years of knowledge and skill and the benefit of his personal commitment to his continuing education.

Dr. Ben Sr. is a 1964 graduate of St. Louis University Dental School where he was selected to be in the honors program. He was in the Air Force Dental Corp for 2 years stationed in Amarillo, TX. He has been in practice in Denver since 1966 and formed Green Mountain Dental in 1974. His son, Ben Jr. entered the practice in 1994. He is an active member of the Academy of General Dentistry.

He and his wife Cissy have been married 40 years and have 5 children and 9 grandchildren. Dr. Ben is an avid golfer and baseball fan. He enjoys being the statistician for the University of Colorado football radio broadcasts.

Melvin J. Vanek, DDS

Dr. Mel graduated from St. Louis University School of Dentistry in 1970 after having received a bachelor's degree in chemistry. Following 2 1/2 years of service in the Army Dental Corps (at Ft. Dix, New Jersey) he moved to Lakewood to join his brother Dr. Ben in private practice. Together, along with the late Dr. Ralph Aasheim, they started Green Mountain Dental Group in 1974. Dr. Mel has been married for 34 years and has 3 married sons (including Dr. Steve), and 4 grandsons. Still an active softball and basketball player, his interests include sports, travel and history.

Benedict O. Vanek Jr., DDS

Dr. Ben Jr. attended Colorado State University for his undergraduate degree from 1986 – 1990 and received his dental degree from the University of Colorado School of Dentistry in 1994. He has been practicing since receiving his license with his father and uncle at Green Mountain Dental Group. Dr. Ben Jr. is a member of the Academy of General Dentistry and American Orthodontic Society.

Dr. Ben Jr. strives to stay up to date with the latest dental care techniques through study and continuing education to provide the best service to his patients.

He and his wife Michelle are natives of Colorado and enjoy living in the Green Mountain area with their 4 children. Dr. Ben Jr. actively participates in Green Mountain Jr. baseball as a coach for over 15 years. He is proud to be an active sponsor in many local high school and junior sports activities.

Steven J. Vanek, DDS

Dr. Steve was born and raised in the Green Mountain area. He attended Regis Jesuit High School. In 1997, he graduated from Colorado State University with a Bachelor's Degree in Biology and a Minor in Anatomy and Neurobiology. He graduated from Creighton University School of Dentistry in Omaha, NE in 2003. He then joined his father (Dr. Mel), uncle and cousin at Green Mountain Dental Group.

Dr. Steve and his wife have a son and a golden retreiver. They reside in Morrison and are members of St. Jude Catholic Church in Lakewood. His interests include sports, travel and hikes/walks with his family and dog.
